Finding in the face of the familiar
something not yet said- Basho
Me, not so different - Asian South African
Now part of the dominant zeitgeist
Born when
Apartheid ruled
The end of McCarthyism, Polio vaccines rollout
and Elvis rocked
Boarding school Catholic, believe in the goodness of humans
And the power of the universe
Inspired by my environment
Dry grasses, seeds and weeds
Poetry and Haikus
And always Jack Keroac pops
What lights me up I ask myself?
It is the colours of a tree trunk when it sheds its bark,
I am woman, mother, grandmother, lover, sister,
Accountant and volunteer
Traveller and wanderer
I am bookartist, printer and multimedia artist
